Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal – #5160

Our client, one of Vancouver’s most respected law firms, is looking for a new Litigation Legal Assistant/Paralegal.

Job Duties

• Oversee the progression of files, including obtaining all relevant documentation and coordinating the settlement process.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, gathering information related to their claims.
• Draft, file, and serve pleadings and application materials.
• Conduct legal research.
• Assist with Chambers appearances and trial preparation.
• Monitor and maintain limitation dates and diarize key deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Paralegal Diploma.
• Legal Administrative Assistant (LAA) Diploma, together with 3–5 years of litigation experience.
• Exceptional organizational and document management skills with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated fact investigation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, internet applications, and case management software.
• Advanced database management knowledge.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage responsibilities effectively in an unstructured work environment.
• Self-directed with the confidence to exercise sound judgment and make recommendations independently.
• Proven ability to prioritize competing tasks and deliver work within established timelines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Sound business judgment, including the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
