Senior Manager, Operations, Roads & Traffic
Reporting to the Director of Operational Services, the Senior Manager, Operations, Roads & Traffic provides strategic leadership and oversees municipal road and traffic operations, including the maintenance of roads, bridges, traffic systems, signage, storm water infrastructure and related assets in alignment with legislative and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team, managing budgets, asset and risk planning, stakeholder engagement and emergency response.
- Foster a culture of safety, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Oversee road maintenance, traffic operations, asset management, capital project delivery, regulatory compliance and budgeting.
- Ensure procurement, vendor oversight and risk management align with organisational objectives.
Candidate Requirements
- University degree in Civil Engineering with a P.Eng designation.
- C.E.T. certification through OACETT.
- AORS Certified Road Supervisor (CRS–S) designation.
- At least 10 years of municipal or public‑sector infrastructure and road operations experience, including unionised environments.
- Minimum of 7 years in progressive leadership roles overseeing multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Extensive knowledge of road maintenance, traffic operations, asset management, capital project delivery, regulatory compliance, budgeting, procurement, vendor oversight, and risk management.
- Strong strategic planning, problem‑solving, change management, communication, collaboration, stakeholder engagement and political acuity.
Salary
$159,739 – $181,522 per annum. Hybrid work (frontline hours Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.).
