FSQA Culture Specialist
Brampton, ON (on-site)
$75,000 - $85,000
Are you passionate about food safety but equally interested in the people side of creating change?
A growing food manufacturing organization in Brampton is looking for an FSQA Culture Specialist who can bring food safety programs to life across the business.
This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, fast-moving organization where you can take ownership, continue building your expertise, and make a visible impact on how food safety is understood and practised every day.
Reporting to the Director of FSQA, you will work closely with employees and leaders across Production, Operations, Sanitation, Maintenance, and other areas of the business. Your role will extend beyond maintaining programs and preparing for audits. You will help create understanding, build commitment, and strengthen a shared culture of food safety throughout the organization.
What You’ll Have the Opportunity to Do
- Champion a positive and sustainable food safety culture across the organization
- Build trusted relationships with employees, supervisors, and department leaders
- Help employees understand the purpose behind food safety expectations and how their work contributes to protecting the product, customer, and business
- Win over employees who may initially be uncertain or resistant to new processes
- Take ownership of assigned FSQA programs, procedures, and documentation
- Coordinate internal, customer, certification, and regulatory audits
- Support audit preparation, corrective actions, follow-up, and continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with Operations to identify practical and sustainable solutions
- Investigate non-conformances and food safety concerns, including root cause and corrective action activities
- Deliver engaging food safety training and reinforce expectations through ongoing coaching
- Identify opportunities to strengthen systems, reduce risk, and improve day-to-day practices
- Help ensure programs remain effective, current, and audit-ready
What You’ll Bring
You have experience in food safety or quality assurance within a food manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of food safety programs, audits, and compliance requirements.
Just as importantly, you are:
- Approachable, credible, and comfortable working with people at every level of an organization
- Able to explain technical requirements in a practical and relatable way
- Confident addressing concerns and holding firm when food safety is at risk
- Skilled at building support for change rather than relying on policy or authority alone
- Organized, curious, and motivated to take ownership of your work
- Experience with HACCP, GMPs, preventive controls, corrective actions, and a GFSI-recognized food safety standard will help you succeed in the role. Relevant post-secondary education in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related discipline.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
You will be joining a growing organization that values teamwork, initiative, learning, and people who turn ideas into action.
This role offers the opportunity to:
- Make a meaningful contribution to an evolving food safety culture
- Work directly with an experienced Director of FSQA
- Build relationships across the entire organization
- Develop your skills through exposure to programs, audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Take genuine ownership of work that has a visible effect on employees, customers, and the business
- Join a supportive and collaborative environment where people work together to get the job done
You do not need to be the loudest person in the room to influence change. You do need to be someone who listens, builds trust, follows through, and is prepared to stand behind important food safety expectations.
If you are ready to move beyond checking boxes and help shape how food safety is understood and embraced across a growing organization, we would like to hear from you.
Qualified applicants are invited to apply with a current résumé. All applications and inquiries will be handled confidentially.
