We are looking for an experienced 2nd or 3rd Class Operating Engineer to join our St. Catharines Propulsion Plant - Powerhouse.

Key Responsibilities

• Required to safely and efficiently operate maintain and repair high pressure steam gas fired boilers air compressors and all auxiliary equipment in a first-class power plant

• Able to trouble shoot and perform routine maintenance on various operational equipment

• Perform the duties of the lead shift engineer as required for vacation and other absences

Who We Are Looking For:

• Possession of a valid 2nd or 3rd Class Operating Engineers certificate

• Able to work on Monday - Friday 7:00 - 3:00 day shift and cover some Shift Engineer Absences (7:00am - 7:00pm & 7:00pm - 7:00am

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Proficient computer skills

• Energetic and self-motivated

• Familiar with the operation and maintenance of large air compressors

• Working knowledge of DCS Controls

• Able to work with minimal direct supervision

• Able to work independently and as part of a team

• Compensation: 2nd Class full rate of $56.17/hr.

• 3rd Class full rate of $53.71/hr.

• You will earn an afternoon shift premium of 5% a night shift premium of 10% paid overtime in accordance with the collective agreement.
