As a Senior Specialist, Debt Solutions, your responsibilities will include:
• Leading the execution of debtor files, while providing exceptional client service to a wide variety of sector specific requirements
• Assisting the firm in the development and growth of its existing insolvency practice in the your community and surrounding areas
• Responding promptly to initial contact from debtors by telephone, email, etc.
• Conducting initial interviews and meetings with debtors, including doing the sign up
• Timely follow up on potential debtors
• Input debtor documentation and workbook into Ascend and prepare sign up documents
• Review files for comparison and appropriateness
• Ensure full compliance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and directives in the delivery of service
• Building positive working relationships with debtors, referral sources, the Office of Superintendent (OSB) and all other stakeholders
• Assess clients’ budget plans and financial goals
• Deliver an excellent and empathetic experience for the clients
• Communicating with clients, creditors and other third parties
• Monitor the status and progress of debt relief options and filings

At Doane Grant Thornton, we believe compensation should reflect more than just market data—it should reflect you. We’re serious about compensation. We benchmark regularly across a wide spectrum of roles, industries, sectors, and levels to ensure our ranges are both competitive and current. But we don’t stop there. We also consider the unique strengths, experiences, and impact each individual brings to the table. Our salary ranges are reviewed annually, and where you land within the range depends on a mix of factors—your background, your skills, and how your contributions align with internal equity. To help start the conversation, the current salary range for this role is $62,300- 85,700 in Markham. If the role is available in other locations, the range may differ to reflect local market factors.
