Maintenance Mechanic

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, solving technical challenges, and contributing to a safe, efficient manufacturing operation. You'll play a key role in maintaining production equipment, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated equipment.

• Diagnose equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective long-term solutions.

• Install, modify, commission, and decommission production equipment as required.

• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and performance.

• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and engineering specifications.

• Repair or fabricate components using machine shop equipment, welding equipment, and hand and power tools.

• Inspect equipment and components using precision measuring instruments.

• Adjust and maintain machinery to ensure optimal operating performance.

• Support inventory management by identifying required replacement parts and maintenance supplies.

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers during maintenance projects.

• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment issues, repairs, and recommendations.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, productivity, and equipment reliability.

• Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Certified Millwright (433A) licence preferred or an equivalent combination of education and relevant maintenance experience.

• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, automated equipment, and process automation systems.

• Experience in foam manufacturing, foam fabrication, or a similar manufacturing environment is considered an asset.

• Knowledge of Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) systems is an asset.

• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.

• Knowledge of Canadian electrical and workplace safety standards.

• Experience operating or working around forklifts, scissor lifts, or similar equipment is an asset.

• Experience with fire alarm systems and facility maintenance is considered an asset.

• Ability to read technical drawings and equipment documentation.

• Strong analytical thinking and root cause problem-solving skills.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance, production, and leadership teams.

• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
