Job description

Description Your future roleTake on a new challenge and apply your troubleshooting and repair expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside dynamic and supportive teammates.You'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our coaches and locomotives. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (such as dispatchers, control tower operators, and maintenance staff), perform routine inspections and repairs, and much more.You'll specifically take care of maintaining electrical and mechanical systems, but also ensure proper setup and operation of layover systems.We'll look to you for:
  • Troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems on coaches and locomotives
  • Shutting down consist power and placing it on wayside power, ensuring proper dispatch setup
  • ing 575 volts layover cables and ensuring the layover system operates correctly
  • Performing comprehensive interior and exterior checks on coaches and locomotives
  • Securing consist with activated radio alarm systems
  • Maintaining minor materials at the outpost station
  • Communicating with the control tower for duty updates
  • Reporting abnormalities and preparing detailed reports
  • Preparing consist for dispatch, including starting Main and HEP engines
  • Undertaking training and testing related to Outpost Location duties at the nearest Zone (Willowbrook or Whitby)
