If you value teamwork, empowerment in your career, and are eager to champion innovative and sustainable solutions to our clients, this opportunity just may be for you! **Job Description** The purpose of this position is to oversee Health, Safety, Security & Environmental (HSSE) to create and sustain a productive and safe work environment to avoid and minimize human injury, environmental degradation and unsafe working conditions/practices. This is achieved through health, safety, security and environmental training, programs, and processes with a visible and uncompromised commitment to fostering positive culture and protecting people and the environment. • Assist with development and implementation of Client / Company HSSE standards and goals across the Project site with Project Management team and Contractors. • Oversee development and implementation of materials for HSSE training, programs and processes. • Provide strategic leadership to a large team, managing multiple tiers of leadership including direct-report managers and supervisors. • Provide guidance for the implementation of HSSE departmental functions in regard to auditing, training, incident investigation, software, tools, Client / Company HSE policies, procedures, and methods designed to drive the Project’s HSSE culture and meet the Company’s HSSE standards and goals through an expert knowledge of the Company’s HSSE standards, programs, and goals. • Manage the overall direction and coordination of the HSSE – Site Management function with Project Management and Contractors for Project HSSE success. • Manage the overall direction and coordination of the HSSE function by identifying and approving HSSE project plans and managing contractual agreements, schedules, activities, and milestones • Analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems, and evaluate realistic options; and recommend/implement appropriate course of action • Liaise as necessary between the Company, client, insurance carriers and regulatory agencies in order to provide assistance and resolution in regard to audits, remedial actions and other HSSE related issues • Other duties as assigned **Basic Job Requirements** • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-four (24) years • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner **Other Job Requirements** • Continue education and knowledge of industry-wide HSSE-related information and technologies as well as new regulations and trends through continuing education, conferences, and/or periodicals, and continues to develop in-depth specialization • Serve as a Company representative to external HSSE organizations **Preferred Qualifications** • Demonstrate high level of interpretive thinking and mature judgment • Skills demonstrating the capability to run the HSSE function on a mega project • Successful completion of mega Oil and Gas projects •Experience in LNG projects •Experience in overseeing security risks, collaborating cross functionally to reduce vulnerabilities •Experience in overseeing complex environmentally sensitive projects • Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets, electronic presentations and databases • Effectively demonstrate high critical thinking/reasoning ability • Effective presentation skills including public speaking • Strong organizational and leadership skills • A valid driver’s license, if required Fluor Canada rewards hard work, knowledge, and commitment. Compressed work schedule: The Fluor Canada offices work a compressed work schedule offering every second Friday off. Salary is based upon experience. Salary Range: $138,000.00 - $256,000.00 The market rate for the role is typically at the mid-point of the salary range; however, variations in final salary are determined by additional factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, relevant years of experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
