Senior Credit Solutions Manager, Commercial Banking - Atlantic Canada

In this role, you will:

• Ensure timely analysis, structure and presentation of credit / financial solutions proposals within prescribed segments
• You will providing prompt and sound recommendations in the analysis and adjudication of credit proposals
• Ensuring that writings to the Senior Client Relationship Manager(s) clearly convey the rationale for decisions, so that they may respond effectively to clients
• Approving or recommending pricing for loans and credit-related fees which yield a return commensurate with risk and due regard to profit, administration and competitive considerations
• Recommend alternative terms, conditions and covenants to provide a viable banking proposal to the client within sound credit lending practices
• Responsible for restructuring marginal proposals into bankable deals where possible
• Providing guidance, coaching and counsel to Client Relationship Manager(s), so that they may better serve clients’ needs
• Liaising with Client Portfolio Management for compliance monitoring and reporting actions as required.Be responsible for ensuring ongoing quality of the assigned credit portfolio through control and administration of the specific conditions and reporting requirements as specified in individual authorizations are adhered
• Have a high level of customer service, prompt and timely responses to credit applications are required.
  

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

• Have experience in ensuring accurate communication of the terms and conditions of an authorization and have supervised the effective and timely implementation
• Proven writing or reviewing all written authorizations to ensure accuracy, completeness and clarity
• Experience in promptly and effectively addressing issues surrounding the adequacy, quality and completeness of loan documentation and security
• You understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
• Have a minimum three years of Commercial Banking experience
• Strong knowledge of the corporate and commercial banking marketplace
• Detailed knowledge of the assigned market area’s key prospects, major companies and competitive positioning within the assigned market area
• Have a very strong understanding of the Corporate and Commercial Bank’s objectives, strategies, structure, as well as its lending and deposit products and services
• Strong PC skills are necessary, including a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power Point and all commercial systems and platforms
• Crucial to have strong credit skills and credit experience
• Proven risk assessment and analysis skills as well deal structuring skills
• You have a good understanding of customer profitability model
• Proven experience in building a solid business case justification for deals
• Strong negotiation skills, and sales/closing capabilities
