Senior Structural EngineerLocation: Toronto, ON
Salary: $125,000–$150,000 (fully negotiable based on experience)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Overview Our client is a growing and highly respected structural engineering firm seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join their Toronto team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional looking to lead complex projects, manage client relationships, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the continued growth of the business. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in structural engineering design, project management, and client-facing responsibilities. You'll work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, recreational, and residential sectors. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural engineering projects from concept through design, coordination, and final delivery.
  • Manage small to large-scale structural engineering projects.
  • Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing for new and existing buildings.
  • Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural investigations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients.
  • Manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide technical guidance.
  • Support business development through proposals, fee submissions, and presentations.
  • Review and provide quality assurance on designs completed by junior and intermediate staff.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of junior engineers and designers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, technical standards, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
  • Eligible for registration in other Canadian provinces and territories.
  • Minimum 10 years of structural engineering and project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of structural building systems and engineering principles.
  • Experience across commercial, institutional, industrial, healthcare, and residential projects.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable building codes and design standards.
  • Experience with ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam is considered an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
