Job description
HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Test Technician, EE Systems to support vehicle readiness, execute software and hardware testing, and help maintain high safety standards both inside and outside the vehicle.
In this role, you’ll perform testing, review and analyze data, create and document ZPTs, and identify both known and newly discovered issues. New issues must be logged in Jira and clearly communicated to the appropriate engineering teams. You’ll also collaborate with teams across computer vision, infrastructure, sound design, strategy, vehicle engineering, and ride operations.
This position requires flexibility to work shifts based on operational needs, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, and weekends.

As a Test Technician, EE Systems, you'll:- Support daily vehicle operations and readiness activities.
- Perform basic software operations and system checks.
- Support testing missions in a variety of roles both inside and outside vehicles.
- Assist with documentation, reporting, and operational metrics.
- Provide clear and accurate written and verbal feedback to engineering teams.
- Complete paperwork and documentation related to vehicle readiness.
- Analyze vehicle logs and test data using internal tools to identify failures and support root cause analysis.
- Support the defect management process from initial identification through resolution.
- Execute mission preparation procedures, including launching software across multiple devices, verifying software and hardware configurations, deploying software, collecting requested data, and escalating issues as needed.
- Conduct testing and data collection to improve processes and tools based on observed customer and operational needs.
- Uphold a safety-focused, inclusive, and open-communication culture.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience conducting complex testing or vehicle testing
- Basic quality assurance testing experience
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence or Azure DevOps
- Experience analyzing test results, identifying issues, and documenting defects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work with a strong sense of urgency
- Safety-first mindset and a commitment to completing tasks accurately and efficiently
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends as needed
Bonus Qualifications:- Experience coding or scripting in Python or another high-level programming language
- Experience with issue-tracking and reporting tools such as Jira
- Experience with communication buses and protocols, including CAN and Ethernet

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
