Reporting to the Principal Software Architect, you will play a key role in designing, building, and evolving the in-house custom applications and integrations that support our residents, patients, families, and team members every day. From workforce scheduling and clinical workflows to dining, recreation, and resident experiences, you'll develop solutions that help keep our communities operating safely, efficiently, and seamlessly.

As our most senior hands-on software engineer, you'll set the technical standard for our internal application development while remaining deeply involved in architecture, coding, problem-solving, and mentoring fellow developers. About the Opportunity

• Design, build, and maintain custom business applications and enterprise integrations that support operations across the organization
• Lead the technical design and development of scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions
• Serve as the technical escalation point for complex production issues spanning multiple applications, integrations, and vendors
• Modernize legacy applications while ensuring stability and reliability for operational teams
• Establish and champion development standards, code quality, testing practices, documentation, and secure software development
• Mentor and support software developers through technical leadership, code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with operational leaders and business stakeholders to translate workflow needs into practical technical solutions
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technical roadmaps, and build-versus-buy evaluations for enterprise applications and integrations

About You

In addition to placing high value on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, you bring:

• 10+ years of professional software development experience, including several years operating at a senior technical level
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong experience developing enterprise applications using modern server-side technologies such as C#/.NET, Java, Node.js, PHP, or Python
• Proven experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and enterprise system integrations
• Strong SQL and relational database design skills, including query optimization and data modeling
• Experience working with Microsoft Azure, AWS, or another cloud platform
• Knowledge of secure software development practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Git-based development workflows
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Asset Qualifications:

• Experience supporting healthcare, seniors' living, or other 24/7 operational environments
• Experience integrating hospitality, workforce management, or clinical applications
• Experience with e-commerce or online payment technologies
