As a Financial Consultant you will contribute to the overall success of MD Financial Management in Canada ensuring specific individual goals plans initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the teams business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations internal policies and procedures. Reporting to the Regional Manager as a Financial Consultant you will assist MD clients and their families in achieving their personal financial goals. Working as a partner with MDs Specialist Advisors you will leverage your years of experience and strong client focus to prepare comprehensive financial plans and specific investment strategies for clients. You will identify and develop new opportunities to prospect and grow the client base while ensuring retention of clients through strong relationship building and the development of comprehensive financial plans

Is this role right for you In this role you will:

• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships systems and knowledge.
• Prepare and execute quarterly business plans to aid in the meeting of individual regional and corporate targets
• Actively participate in prospecting
• Complete financial planning in the areas of risk management estate planning liability management cashflow/budgeting education funding tax retirement planning investment management practice management and goal setting
• Prepare comprehensive financial plans and specific investment strategies based on MD Management developed and managed optimal portfolio ranges
• Understand and comply with all industry regulations and MDs program and process requirements
• Conduct financial planning seminars and information meetings throughout the region to inform clients about new strategies legislative changes and MD Managements programs
• Increase visibility of products and services through contact with centers of influence
• Keep current on issues affecting the financial affairs of clients including a general knowledge of income tax investment trends and products as well as any other issues impacting clients
• Provide input to marketing and management concerning potential new products and services
• Travel within established travel circuit
• Understand how the Banks risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Education Professional Experience Certifications and Skills required:

• College or university degree.
• CIRO licensed as a Registered Representative (CIRO-RR) including completion of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam (CIRE) Retail Securities Exam (RSE) RR Internal Dealer Training.
• F. Pl. designation
• Life License (LLQP) is an asset. Completion of the Group Annuity Sector (PQPAV) - Quebec offices only - is an asset.
• You have a breadth and depth or core financial products and a high-level of comfort and confidence in presenting this information to clients.
• Strong computer skills with an above average understanding of MS Word MS Excel and portfolio management and financial planning software.
• Previous lending experience will be considered an asset
• A demonstrated track record of above average sales in a financial services or related environment
• 2 years financial planning experience within the financial services industry
• Strong marketing skills
• Excellent public speaking abilities
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

In addition to French the successful candidate must also have sufficient knowledge of English as the work involves interacting and collaborating regularly with groups and individuals based in Toronto as well as constantly interacting with other people including clients who speak English locally and elsewhere.
