Our client, a prominent higher education and research institution based in Montreal, is embarking on a major modernization of its digital environment. As part of a key initiative aimed at replacing legacy tools for resource, scheduling, and facility management, we are seeking a Senior Solutions Architect.

Embedded within the core enterprise architecture team, you will play a pivotal role in designing target state architectures, setting integration strategies, and providing technical leadership during the public procurement phase.

Responsibilities
Architectural Design: Produce comprehensive high-level and detailed architecture documentation (current/target states, data modeling, integration points, cloud, and security frameworks).

Public Tendering Support: Perform market analysis, contribute to drafting Request for Proposals (RFP) documentation, and assist in evaluating candidate platforms.

Governance & Approvals: Prepare architecture compliance packages and present solutions to the Architecture Review Board (ARB) for endorsement.

Implementation Strategy: Establish transition plans, identify operational and technical risks, and support project managers with effort and cost assessments.

Technical Guidance: Provide continuous oversight to implementation teams throughout execution to ensure alignment with architectural standards.

Qualifications
Proven Experience: Successfully delivered as a Solutions Architect on at least three (3) distinct projects over the last five (5) years.

Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in data architecture, cloud ecosystems, system interoperability, network infrastructure, and security best practices.

Frameworks & Agile: Demonstrated proficiency with structured architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Macroscope) and hands-on experience in Agile delivery environments.

Public Sector Procurement: Familiarity with public tendering processes and vendor proposal evaluations.

Interpersonal Skills: High autonomy, collaborative mindset, strong leadership, and an ability to drive change in digital transformation contexts.

Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.

Summary
Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid setup: minimum 2 days on-site)

Duration: 12-month initial contract (plus two 6-month extension options)

Schedule: Full-time (35 billable hours/week, Monday to Friday)

Pay Rate:

W2 / Contract Employee Rate: $98.65 / hour

Incorporated Rate (Inc.): $122.07 / hour.
