The City of Abbotsford is looking for qualified, professional, and knowledgeable Auxiliary Fitness Workers – Group Fitness Instructors to teach at the Abbotsford & Matsqui Recreation Centers. The focus is to provide an excellent class for all participants for physical and mental health.
Under the supervision of the Fitness Supervisor team, the Fitness Worker I – Group Fitness Instructors are responsible for planning and executing fitness classes within their scope of practice. The main focus areas for the Fitness Worker – Group Fitness Instructor is inclusiveness of all participants as well as safety. The City offers a variety of already designed and well attended drop-in as well as pre-registered classes that help keep the members of our city healthy and active. Classes take place in classrooms and weightrooms at the City’s recreation centers.

The candidate is required to provide a satisfactory Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Check in order to work in this position. A clearance requires the absence of any criminal charges or convictions related to this position. It is the responsibility of the candidate to report to their manager any criminal charges laid against them during their term in this position.

Salary: $23.66 – $27.83 per hour, plus the appropriate percentage in lieu of benefits
