About This Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of International Sales, the Business Development Manager – International will lead and coordinate key international sales projects that support the successful execution of Canada Packers’ global sales strategy. This role will act as a central point of connection between Head Office, international offices, production facilities, Finance, Logistics, and other internal partners to ensure priorities, timelines, deliverables, and business requirements are aligned. The successful candidate will bring strong project management, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills to support market execution, reporting, issue resolution, and profitable growth across international markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate international sales projects from planning through execution, ensuring priorities, timelines, deliverables, and accountabilities are clearly defined and tracked.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Canada Packers Head Office, international offices, production facilities, Finance, Logistics, and other internal partners to support alignment on project goals and business requirements.
  • Coordinate market-based pricing benchmarks, margin targets, and related inputs with local offices to support informed decision-making and alignment with GP objectives.
  • Manage cross-functional follow-up to ensure technical, customer, and market-specific requirements, including North Asian market requirements, are understood and executed at the plant level.
  • Monitor project progress, market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify risks, opportunities, and required adjustments to international sales initiatives.
  • Prepare Monthly Business Review reporting, including sales updates, forecasts, performance metrics, project status, risks, and business opportunities.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve order, inventory, product claim, and execution-related issues by gathering data, engaging the appropriate stakeholders, and driving actionable solutions.
  • Facilitate daily market calls and provide clear summaries, action items, and follow-ups related to international market trends and business priorities.
  • Support compliance with company policies, procedures, customer requirements, and local regulations throughout project planning and execution.
  • Coordinate plant visits and customer visits to Brandon and Lethbridge facilities, ensuring objectives, key requirements, and follow-up actions are clearly managed.
  • Partner with internal teams to support the preparation of marketing materials and business updates for existing and new international sales activities.
  • Maintain flexibility to support communication across international time zones, including evening and early morning calls as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in business, business administration, supply chain, logistics, project management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience coordinating projects, initiatives, or cross-functional workstreams in a sales, commercial, supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to organize priorities, track timelines and deliverables, manage follow-ups, and keep stakeholders aligned.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with various levels of the organization, including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Master Data, and production teams.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to prepare business updates, summarize key information, facilitate meetings, and present recommendations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, interpret data, identify risks, and support actionable solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities, maintaining attention to detail, and driving progress on multiple initiatives.
  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to understand business priorities and translate them into coordinated actions and follow-up.
  • Highly collaborative, proactive, and accountable, with a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Ability to travel to customers and Canada Packers facilities as required to support project execution, market understanding, reviews, and internal updates.
  • Ability to adapt to working hours across various time zones, including work outside of normal office hours when required.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with SAP or project tracking tools is considered an asset.

This posting is for a current vacancy on our team.

  • The expected annual compensation for this role is $110,000–$125,000 per year. This includes base salary and eligibility for our annual incentive program. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
