Job description
Purpose Duties include designing, deploying and supporting IT production networks and related systems within both industrial and conventional datacenter environments. The IT Infrastructure Specialist III will provide support for escalated issues and act as a mentor for other team members. The specialist will also manage and execute IT Technology Infrastructure projects at production facilities, collaborating with both the IT Infrastructure team and external contractors to successfully execute projects in support of company objectives. Key Responsibilities Ensure adherence to company safety and environmental standards while modeling core valuesCoach, mentor, and support on-site IT Administrators and other plant operations staff on more complex issuesManage and support IT Infrastructure capital project efforts as the technical leadSupport the planning and execution of the IT infrastructure portion of large-scale multi team strategic projectsDesign, deploy and support network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, wireless, video cameras and other related equipment.Design, deploy and support systems infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers, storage and backup systems, and infrastructure related softwareAnalyze and develop technical solutions to integrate state-of-the-art technology, hardware, and software components into the manufacturing production environmentProvide business hours and on-call support for mills and IT team for all escalated production infrastructure issues and requestsDesign production IT infrastructure in collaboration with the IT Infrastructure Engineering team.Provide specifications and manage procurement of infrastructure equipment and componentsMonitor field work to ensure quality and provide feedback to improve future projectsConduct system analysis and site surveys as required using appropriate analysis models and toolsModel Company core valuesOther duties as assigned Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering or a related field and a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experienceAbility to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and issues to a non-technical audienceDemonstrated ability to excel as both a leader and a collaborative team member, adapting to various roles as required by the situation.Strong technical, planning/organizational, and execution skillsStrong understanding in infrastructure design, including: Network, Server, Storage, and Wireless systems and related IT security technologiesExperience with several of the following technologies - Arista EOS, Arista Cloudvision, Cisco IOS, Cisco UCS, VXLAN/BGP eVPN, VMWare vSphere/Horizon, Microsoft Windows & Active Directory, Pure storage, Veeam, Efficient IP DHCP & DNS, Devops, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as CodeACE: L2 or CCNA certification, or demonstrable equivalent knowledgeStrong interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications Industry certifications relevant to the role (ACE:L4/CCNP or higher, VMWare related certifications, CISSP/CISA, ITIL/ITSM related certifications)Experience and familiarity with manufacturing control system components like PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs etc.Experience supporting highly reliable/highly critical systems found in areas like manufacturing, healthcare, or governmentIndustrial experience in wood products, power generation, or other general manufacturing
