- Lead and execute disaster recovery planning, procedures, and testing to ensure business continuity
- Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive remediation strategies
- Participate in planning, implementation, and rollout of new mainframe products and technologies, adapting emerging solutions to our environment
- Guide and mentor team members on operational excellence, continuous improvement initiatives, and technical best practices
- Establish and maintain processes that optimize system availability, client satisfaction, and team efficiency
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams, development teams, and internal/external partners on change management, technical escalations, and strategic recommendations
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must Have:
- 5-7+ years of hands-on mainframe experience with in-depth knowledge of z/OS and z/VM processes, troubleshooting, and system administration
- Advanced problem determination, resolution, and escalation capabilities with proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure
- Proven change management and implementation experience with demonstrated ability to manage expectations and deliver on commitments consistently
- Proactive, self-starter mentality with commitment to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and exceptional customer service
- Operational expertise with z/OS tools (TSO, ISPF, REXX, System Automation)
Nice-to-Have:
- ITIL framework certification or IT Standards and Methodologies knowledge
- Experience leading or mentoring technical teams and driving positive organizational change
- Capability to develop innovative ideas and creative solutions for complex mainframe challenges
