Senior.NET Developer

MatchBox is urgently seeking a Senior .NET Developer for a 12-month contract role-35 hours per week for our South Vancouver based public sector client. This is a hybrid role (2 days in office and 3 days remote per week).

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Developer to support a portfolio of ongoing application development and enhancement projects. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative development team, delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions built on the Microsoft technology stack.
This role requires strong technical expertise in C#, .NET, and enterprise application development, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, business analysts, QA professionals, and other developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and technical team members to design and implement scalable business solutions.
• Develop and deliver assigned technical components while ensuring high quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while identifying opportunities for system improvements.
• Develop multi-tier and service-oriented applications that support business-critical processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation in accordance with established development standards and best practices.
• Follow secure coding standards, development methodologies, and software engineering best practices.
• Support application deployments, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance activities.
• Contribute innovative ideas and recommendations for improving development processes, technologies, and application architecture.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• 5+ years of experience developing applications on the Microsoft Windows platform.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using C# and Microsoft .NET.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams delivering enterprise business applications.
• Experience designing and developing multi-tier enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and application architecture.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex production and development issues.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
