Job description
Join the City of Oshawa as an Adaptive Program Instructor to empower participants with disabilities through engaging leisure activities. This role focuses on facilitating adaptive programming and enhancing participant integration. In this dynamic position, reporting to the Inclusion Coordinator, you will develop and implement inclusive recreation opportunities for individuals with diverse needs. Your expertise in adaptation and support will enhance community engagement, ensuring that programs cater to every participant's abilities. Collaboration with Inclusion Support Instructors and community organizations is essential to promote inclusive practices and integrate participants into existing programs. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and facilitate adaptive recreation programs • Support Inclusion Support Instructors effectively • Conduct city-wide participant observations and feedback • Create communication aids and visual schedules • Implement recommended program and environmental adaptations Requirements: • Education in a related field is an asset • Experience with children and youth with diverse needs • Current Standard First Aid & CPR qualifications • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Engage in meaningful recreation and support initiatives with the City of Oshawa to foster an inclusive community. #J-18808-Ljbffr
