Recruitment Consultant - Permanent Staffing

Staff Plus is hiring an experienced Recruitment Consultant to support and grow our permanent placement business.

This is a full-cycle, client-facing recruitment role for someone who enjoys both sides of agency recruitment: finding and placing qualified candidates while developing strong client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.

You will manage permanent searches from the initial client conversation through sourcing, interviewing, offer negotiation and successful placement. You will have the opportunity to build your recruitment desk, earn commission on successful placements and contribute directly to the growth of our permanent recruitment division.

Pay Rate: $65,000 - $75,000 per year

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility based on business needs

What You’ll Do

• Manage the full recruitment process for permanent positions across multiple industries
• Meet with clients to understand their hiring needs, workplace requirements and ideal candidate profile
• Develop targeted sourcing strategies for each search
• Source candidates through job boards, LinkedIn, social media, referrals, networking, direct outreach and other recruitment channels
• Conduct telephone, virtual and in-person interviews
• Assess candidates based on their skills, experience, career goals and suitability for the opportunity
• Prepare and present qualified candidate shortlists to clients
• Coordinate interviews and maintain timely communication with candidates and hiring managers
• Gather feedback, address concerns and keep recruitment processes moving forward
• Negotiate employment terms and support candidates and clients through the offer process
• Build long-term relationships with clients, candidates and professional networks
• Conduct prospecting, cold outreach and lead-generation activities to develop new business
• Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client accounts
• Maintain accurate candidate, client and placement information in recruitment systems
• Follow up after placements to support client satisfaction and candidate retention

• Previous full-cycle recruitment or talent acquisition experience
• Experience recruiting for permanent positions, preferably within a staffing or recruitment agency
• Strong candidate sourcing, interviewing and assessment skills
• Confidence communicating with candidates, hiring managers and business decision-makers
• Experience developing client relationships and understanding hiring requirements
• Strong negotiation, influencing and relationship-building abilities
• Comfort with business development, prospecting, lead generation and cold outreach
• Ability to manage multiple searches, candidates and client priorities at the same time
• Strong organization, follow-through and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• Proficiency with applicant tracking systems, recruitment platforms, job boards, LinkedIn and Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada, and work full time hours as required by this position
