Imperial recognizes the important role we can play by advancing climate solutions within our operations and by providing lower life-cycle emission products to our customers. This effort is powered by a unique and diverse workforce fueled by a pride in what we do and what we stand for.

The success of our upstream, downstream and chemical, and corporate divisions is the result of the talent, curiosity and drive of our people. They bring solutions every day to optimize our strategy in energy, chemicals, lubricants and lower-emissions technologies.

Imperial honours diverse backgrounds so we can be a place where people can bring their full selves to work, no matter their identity, race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or ability.

At Imperial, we want you to come for the position and stay for the career. As an integrated company, we are uniquely positioned to offer you a wide range of career prospects and growth opportunities through the course of your career with us. We invite you to bring your ideas and help create sustainable solutions that improve quality of life and meet society’s evolving needs.

What role you will play in our team

As a Procurement Contract Manager Advisor, you will manage a strategic portfolio of contracts and supplier relationships that support Imperial's operations across Canada or provide advisory procurement support for major capital projects. You will develop and execute sourcing strategies, lead commercial negotiations, optimize supplier performance, and deliver sustainable value while ensuring continuity of supply and minimizing risk.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute category and sourcing strategies aligned with business or project objectives.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contract development for medium to large-scale agreements.
  • Drive value creation through market analysis, benchmarking, and cost optimization.
  • Partner with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities and solve complex commercial challenges.
  • Manage supplier relationships to improve cost, quality, delivery, and performance.
  • Identify and implement innovative procurement solutions that enhance business outcomes.
  • Maintain and steward a portfolio of contracts, including amendments, pricing updates, and scope changes.
  • Assess and mitigate commercial, supply, and contractual risks.
  • Support procurement transformation initiatives and promote best practices across the organization.
  • Leverage market intelligence and industry insights to influence category strategies and sourcing decisions.

About you

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, strategic sourcing, contract management, or a related commercial field.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, including cost analysis and value optimization.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, build relationships, and drive results in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SCMP, CPSM, CPM, or similar professional designation.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy, or other industrial sectors.
  • Experience supporting major capital projects.
  • Materials management or supply chain operations experience.

An Imperial career is one designed to last. Our commitment to you runs deep: our employees grow personally and professionally, with benefits built on our core categories of health, security, finance, and life. Imperial Oil has been recognized as one of Canada’s and Alberta’s top employers (2024) as recognized by Mediacorp Canada Inc.’s 24th annual competition.

We offer you:

- Competitive salary

- Training and mentorship

- Relocation assistance as required
