Projects may include HVAC systems, plumbing, domestic water, sanitary and storm systems, hydronic heating and cooling, ventilation systems, fire protection coordination, natural gas systems, and mechanical equipment serving commercial, institutional, municipal, and multi-residential buildings.
  • Conduct condition assessments, field investigations, and performance evaluations of existing mechanical systems. Develop practical, cost-effective engineering solutions that improve building performance, energy efficiency, reliability, and long-term asset value while meeting applicable codes, standards, and client objectives.

Project Management

  • Define project scope, prepare work plans, establish schedules and budgets, and manage project resources throughout the project lifecycle. Review and approve engineering deliverables to ensure technical quality and alignment with client requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Project Associates and junior staff in areas such as system design, equipment selection, specifications, tender preparation, contract administration, and construction review.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, architects, and other consultants, facilitating effective communication, resolving project challenges, and ensuring successful project execution.

Client Management and Development

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by acting as the trusted advisor throughout project delivery.
  • Provide responsive communication, proactively identify client needs, and develop practical engineering solutions that support long-term building performance.
  • Identify opportunities for future work through ongoing client engagement and contribute to the continued growth of Edison by developing lasting partnerships.

Revenue Generation

  • Contribute to both short-term and long-term business growth by supporting proposal preparation, project planning, and client development activities.
  • Manage project budgets, utilization, and financial performance to achieve profitability targets while maintaining a high standard of technical excellence and client service.

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, proposal preparation, contract administration, and client management.
  • Experience managing projects from concept through construction completion, including developing scope, engineering design, technical specifications, tender documents, and construction administration.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, hydronic systems, ventilation, domestic water, sanitary and storm systems, mechanical equipment, and applicable building codes and standards.
  • Experience conducting condition assessments, lifecycle evaluations, and mechanical system investigations for existing buildings.
  • Experience preparing engineering reports, Building Condition Assessments, capital plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates for mechanical rehabilitation projects.
  • Experience coordinating with structural, electrical, architectural, and building envelope disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Experience working on a variety of facilities including multi-residential (condominiums), commercial, municipal, institutional, and community buildings.
