The Senior Accountant is responsible for the overall integrity and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as additional financial reporting and disclosures required by the parent company, VW AG. The role manages the month‑end close process, ensures accurate and timely posting of general ledger entries, and applies proper IFRS accounting treatment to all transactions. The Senior Accountant works closely with business, Controlling groups and Group Accounting to align reporting objectives, streamline processes, and manage external audit requirements. Salary range: $90,000‑$95,000 (actual pay may vary based on experience, education, and internal compensation practices). General Tasks within this Role Reporting Plan and manage monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including analysis, validation, submission of statements, and additional notes & disclosures. Liaise with VW Group Accounting in Germany on reporting issues, technical accounting matters, ad‑hoc reporting documents, and communications on accounting changes. Maintain General Ledger and mapping table configurations, ensuring integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial statements and disclosures. Ensure accounting treatment of all transactions complies with IFRS and the VW Accounting Handbook, assess impacts of new IFRS standards, and align processes accordingly. Document local accounting treatment changes and communicate with VW AG Group Accounting to ensure compliance with group guidelines. Research and analyze IFRS accounting issues, provide sound advice to the business, and prepare IFRS Position Papers for internal use and external auditors. Audit Manage financial statement audits for relevant entities, coordinate audit deliverables, liaise on significant accounting issues, and meet audit reporting timelines. Maintain working papers and schedules required by external auditors, and provide thorough explanations, analyses, and responses to audit queries. Support internal audits as required for relevant entities and business areas. Collaboration Act as liaison on accounting topics to ensure cooperation and integration between VGCA Accounting Services and Controlling teams. Collaborate with entity leadership and Controlling to understand business needs, align IFRS compliance, and assist with reporting requirements. Support the corporate tax team with ad‑hoc requests, prepare financial information, reports and disclosures for tax filings, and facilitate tax provision booking processes. Provide backup support to other Senior Accounting functions as required. Internal Controls Review and support trial balance review processes, including detailed fluctuation analysis and timely action to ensure integrity. Develop and maintain documentation of processes, procedures and maps within the ICFR framework, and monitor new and existing internal controls. Maintain and test internal control documentation and desk procedures for core duties. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related discipline. CPA designation or in final stages of obtaining the designation. 3+ years working in a similar role. Intermediate to advanced understanding of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong written, oral, and presentation skills for documenting and conveying functions and processes. Analytical skills to dissect complex accounting processes, identify risks and recommend improvements. Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet daily and monthly deadlines. Adaptability to respond quickly to changing environments. Team player with a customer‑focused approach. Strong business acumen and ability to interact with all organizational levels.
