Missions/Main Duties
The Information Management Lead is responsible for defining implementing and governing the project information management framework. The role ensures that information is structured controlled compliant and aligned with delivery operational and stakeholder requirements across the asset lifecycle.
This position provides leadership on information governance standards quality assurance metadata information architecture and compliance while working closely with project design digital and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the information management strategy for the project or program
- Establish and maintain information governance frameworks standards and protocols
- Develop and oversee metadata structures naming conventions classification systems and information architecture
- Ensure alignment of information practices with project delivery requirements and lifecycle needs
- Lead information quality assurance processes to verify completeness consistency traceability and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards including ISO 19650 and relevant data protection and security requirements
- Gather and translate stakeholder information requirements into clear governance rules and delivery processes
- Oversee how information is structured across connected environments such as BIM GIS EDMS PMIS and asset information systems
- Lead audits reviews and reporting related to information management performance and compliance
- Identify information risks and define mitigation measures
- Support digital adoption and change management related to information management practices
- Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to delivery teams and stakeholders
Profile/Skills
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering Information Management Information Technology Construction Management Library/Information Science or a related discipline. A Masters degree is an asset.
Years of experience: 10 years of relevant experience in information management digital delivery document control governance or related disciplines within complex infrastructure or capital projects.
Technical competencies:
- Strong knowledge of ISO 19650 and information management principles
- Experience developing and implementing:
- information governance frameworks
- metadata and classification systems
- naming conventions
- information quality controls
- compliance and audit processes
- Understanding of information structures across BIM GIS EDMS PMIS and related digital systems
- Familiarity with digital handover asset information requirements and digital twin information principles
- Knowledge of data protection information security and controlled access environments
- Relevant professional certification in BIM information management project delivery or related disciplines is an asset
- Clear verbal and written communication skills both in French and in English*
