Job Summary
We are hiring a Midnight Transportation Clerk for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Mississauga. This junior-level logistics and transportation role is ideal for a reliable, computer-savvy candidate who enjoys working in a fast-paced transportation environment and supporting drivers, paperwork flow, trip arrivals, and overnight operations.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with 6 months to 1 year of transportation experience, or a motivated candidate with excellent communication skills and the ability to learn quickly. The team is willing to train the right person, especially someone who brings strong attendance, professionalism, and a positive attitude. You will be part of an essential transportation operation with hands-on training, supportive leadership, and the potential to grow into a long-term role.
Key Responsibilities
- Check in arriving drivers and ensure required trip details are accurately documented.
- Scan, index, and organize transportation paperwork for timely processing.
- Complete data entry in internal systems with a high level of accuracy.
- Support customs-related documentation and administrative tasks.
- Open the gate for departing drivers and record required departure information.
- Assist with miscellaneous transportation office duties as needed during the night shift.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay rate: $19.50 per hour.
- Annual salary range provided: $40,560 per year.
- Job type: Temp-to-hire.
- Location: Mississauga, ON
- Shift: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Schedule: 14 days per month, 84 hours every 2 weeks, averaging 42 hours per week.
- Rotating schedule example: Week 1 may include Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday, with the following week working the opposite days such as Wednesday and Thursday.
- Shift pattern repeats every 2 weeks.
- Training will be on day shift for 1 to 2 weeks, either 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- This operation does not shut down on holidays, and candidates must be available to work scheduled holidays.
