Job description

Salary: $68,000 - 108,000 per year

Requirements:

  • We hold a post-secondary diploma or university degree in information technology, or we bring an equivalent combination of education and at least 5 years of professional experience.
  • We have hands-on knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
  • We have broad experience supporting applications.
  • We have practical expertise with current network hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • We have direct experience troubleshooting hardware issues.
  • We understand our organizations goals and priorities.
  • We are familiar with applicable data privacy practices and legislation.
  • We are fluent in French and English, as we work with our international facilities.
  • We have experience with Azure, cloud, or data center environments.
  • We can manage Azure identities and governance.
  • We can deploy and administer Azure compute resources.
  • We can monitor and maintain Azure resources.
  • We have Microsoft 365 skills, including licensing administration, identity and access in Azure AD, and security management with Microsoft 365 Defender.
  • We demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • We work well with others and have solid interpersonal abilities.
  • We can research networking issues and products as needed.
  • We can present ideas in a clear, user-friendly way.
  • We are highly motivated, take initiative, and pay close attention to detail.
  • We have proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • We can prioritize effectively and perform under pressure.
  • We are strongly customer-focused.
  • We have experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

  • We design the network and plan capacity.
  • We develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and related training plans for network resource administration, proper usage, and disaster recovery.
  • We establish service-level agreements with end users.
  • We oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user workstation hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • We liaise and negotiate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to secure network products and services.
  • We research network products, services, protocols, and standards to support acquisition and network development efforts.
  • We administer servers, including email, print, and backup servers, along with related operating systems and software.
  • We manage security solutions such as firewalls, antivirus tools, and intrusion detection systems.
  • We oversee network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, and UPS units.
  • We ensure network connectivity for all workstations.
  • We administer updates for equipment, hardware, and software.
  • We manage network assets, including inventory, documentation, and technical specifications.
  • We administer end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • We perform server and security audits.
  • We carry out system backups and restores.
  • We monitor and test network performance and produce performance statistics and reports.
  • We recommend, schedule, and execute network improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • We may guide and support junior team members.
