Digital Payload System Architect

Aversan Inc.() is a trusted multi-service engineering and electronics manufacturing company. Aversan delivers leading-edge and reliable safety-critical electronics and software systems to the aerospace defence and space industries.

We are currently seeking a qualified Digital Payload System Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for design analysis implementation optimization and enhancement of end-to-end communication digital payload systems and/or subsystem elements related to the system architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design analyze implement and optimize end-to-end satellite communication digital payload systems and related subsystem architectures.
  • Support or lead telecommunications systems engineering activities for satellite-based connectivity solutions.
  • Contribute to the design of satellite payloads including RF bent-pipe and digital onboard processing payloads (transparent or regenerative).
  • Develop system requirements and subsystem specifications for RF and digital payload components such as digital channel processors phased array antennas multi-spot beam systems and flexible payload architectures.
  • Perform system requirement analysis trade studies and link budget calculations to evaluate payload performance and satellite throughput.
  • Establish and supervise systems engineering standards methods and testing procedures for digital payload systems.
  • Participate in design reviews integration activities and system validation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering Physics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 to 8 years of experience in digital equipment signal processing and networking technologies (e.g. DTN MPLS routing protocols DVB
  • Knowledge of RF systems satellite payload design and 5G NTN is considered an asset.
  • Experience with simulation and modelling tools such as MATLAB Simulink UML or STK and familiarity with Linux environments.
  • Understanding of Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures and Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication documentation and presentation skills.
  • French language proficiency required; English is an asset.
