Electrical Instrumentation Engineer

Description

The candidate will be called upon to work with a multidisciplinary team made up of electrical engineers. mechanical engineers, technicians and technical designers. The objective is to carry out projects related to the development of new electrical systems, automated test equipment and test cells intended to develop new engine programs.

- Lead research, development, design and validation of electrical equipment or systems by communicating with stakeholders to ensure that business objectives, requirements and specifications are met.

- Represent the organization at meetings, committees, conferences and interdisciplinary team work to present, explain or defend recommendations, findings, or other negotiations or agreements.

- Provide technical training to junior engineers and other trades and

- Ensures that standards are followed and that the quality of work is met.

- Analyze the technical requirements, capacity, costs and customer needs to determine the feasibility of the project.

- Design electrical and/or automated components, software, products or systems.

- Produce an implementation schedule and plans project budgets to deliver them according to the time and cost established with the client.

- Direct and coordinates the manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, operation or modification of electrical and automated systems or equipment.

- Supervise the implementation activities of new technologies and ensures their integration into all systems.

Skills & Qualifications

Ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience.

-Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering (Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering are also acceptable)

-Proficient in PLC Programming (Allen-Bradley preferred) - ladder logic

-HMI programming (Example: Wonderware, Allan Bradley preferred)

-High-speed Instrumentation experience (Kulites, strain-gages)

-2D AutoCAD (circuitry design, electrical schematics/drawings)

-Power supply, transformation and distribution experience or understanding

-Proficient with electrical, pressure, temperature, speed, flow and vibration measurement systems and techniques

-Ability to lead meetings, actions, reviews, and prioritize workload across parallel projects and organizations

Nice to have's:

-Aerospace experience

-ControlLogix/CompactLogix/RSLogix 5000/LabVIEW)

-CATIA V5

-Metrology and ISO in general (17025 is what our client uses) measurement standards experience;

Automotive test cells & mining are good environments to find candidates from.

This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.
