Plant Controller 3-6 Month Contract

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Plant Controller to oversee all financial operations at our manufacturing facility. This role is a key business partner to plant leadership, ensuring accurate financial reporting and driving cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) to ensure accurate product costing
• Oversee standard costing for labour, materials, and overhead; maintain and update cost standards
• Lead month-end and GL close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Prepare and present variance analysis (purchase price, labour efficiency, overhead absorption) with clear commentary
• Partner with operations to drive cost reduction initiatives and improve financial performance
• Lead and develop a finance team, providing coaching, performance management, and workload oversight
• Deliver strong analytical insights on plant KPIs, margins, and operational trends to senior leadership

• CPA designation (or equivalent) preferred
• 5+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with BOM management, standard costing, and inventory accounting
• Proven ability to manage month-end and GL close cycles under tight deadlines
• Experience managing or mentoring a team
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar) an asset
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into operational insights
