Family Physician – Full-Time (2.0 FTE)

Southern Health–Santé Sud is seeking 2 Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Family Physician to join the healthcare team at Vita District Health Centre in Vita, Manitoba.

This opportunity is offered as an Independent Contractor position, providing physicians with the flexibility and autonomy of independent practice while benefiting from the support of a well-established healthcare team and facility.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services through the community medical clinic and participate in the regional after-hours on-call schedule. Based in Vita, the physician may also provide services to patients in Sprague and surrounding communities, supporting access to high-quality healthcare throughout the region.

Practice Opportunity

This established rural family medicine practice offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, team-based care environment focused on delivering high-quality, patient‑centred care. The clinic utilizes Accuro EMR and is supported by an interdisciplinary team that includes Nurse Practitioners, Primary Care Nurses, and experienced administrative staff, enabling physicians to provide comprehensive care with strong clinical and operational support.

Facility and Services

Vita District Health Centre serves as a central healthcare hub for Vita and the surrounding region. The facility includes a 10‑bed Transitional Care Unit, a 44‑bed Personal Care Home, and a range of primary care, community health, and supportive care services.

Onsite diagnostic services support timely assessment, diagnosis, and treatment and include:

• Laboratory services
• Diagnostic imaging, including X‑ray
• Electrocardiograms (ECGs)
• Access to regional specialist consultations and additional diagnostic services through established referral pathways

The integrated healthcare environment supports continuity of care and collaboration among healthcare providers, helping to meet the diverse healthcare needs of the community.
