Job description

Registered Architect
BC Interior Region (Relocation Required)
Salary: $85,000–$115,000
Strong Market. Career Growth. Diverse Projects.

Please Note: This position is based in BC's Interior Region. We welcome applications from candidates throughout Ontario and Canada who are open to relocating.

About the Firm

Our client is a well-established architectural practice with multiple offices across British Columbia. Known for its collaborative culture and long-standing client relationships, the firm delivers a diverse range of projects throughout the province, serving both public and private sector clients.

One of their growing Interior BC offices continues to experience a strong and consistent workload, supported by a healthy pipeline of projects and an established presence within the region. As the office expands, they are looking to add an experienced Architect who is excited to take on greater project leadership while contributing to the continued growth of the team.

Why Join This Team?

If you're an Architect based in the Greater Toronto Area and have been considering a move west, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

British Columbia's Interior continues to experience strong and consistent growth, creating excellent long-term opportunities for Architects looking to build their careers within a thriving regional market. While many major urban centres have experienced fluctuations in hiring, this office has maintained a healthy backlog of work and continues to invest in its people.

You'll have the opportunity to lead projects from early planning through construction, work directly with clients, consultants and contractors, and be trusted with meaningful responsibility from day one. The firm values collaboration, encourages new ideas, and supports professional growth through mentorship, autonomy and exposure to every stage of project delivery.

The office offers the stability and resources of an established practice combined with the close-knit culture of a smaller team. You'll broaden your project experience, strengthen client relationships, mentor junior staff, and continue building your career within a firm that believes in promoting from within.

Relocating to BC's Interior also offers a lifestyle that's difficult to match. Enjoy significantly shorter commutes, a lower cost of living than Toronto or Vancouver, easy access to hiking, skiing, mountain biking, lakes and wineries, and the opportunity to build a rewarding career without sacrificing work-life balance.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Registered Architect to lead projects through all phases of design and construction.

Working closely with senior leadership, consultants and clients, you'll manage multiple projects while overseeing design development, technical documentation, consultant coordination and construction administration. This role offers an excellent balance of technical delivery, project management and client-facing responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects through all phases of design and construction
  • Manage project schedules, budgets and deliverables
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary consultant teams throughout project delivery
  • Prepare and review design packages, permit drawings and construction documentation
  • Provide technical leadership and quality control across multiple projects
  • Lead client meetings and maintain strong client relationships
  • Support contract administration, including RFIs, submittals, site reviews and change documentation
  • Mentor junior architectural and technical staff
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with applicable codes, regulations and firm standards

Qualifications

  • Registered Architect with the AIBC is preferred, therefore, architects registered with another Canadian provincial association who are willing to transfer their registration to the AIBC are encouraged to apply
  • Minimum 5 years of architectural experience delivering projects through all phases
  • Strong proficiency with Autodesk Revit
  • Experience leading projects and coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes and construction practices
  • Excellent communication, organization and client relationship skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment
  • Open to relocating to BC's Interior Region

What's On Offer

  • Competitive salary, depending on experience
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Relocation opportunity to one of British Columbia's strongest architectural markets
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of projects across British Columbia
  • Opportunity to lead projects from concept through construction
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Long-term career growth with an established and expanding architectural practice
  • An exceptional work-life balance with year-round access to outdoor recreation and a welcoming Interior BC community

If you're ready to trade long commutes and an increasingly competitive market for meaningful career growth, greater project ownership and an exceptional lifestyle, I'd love to connect.
