This is an opportunity for a Family Physician (FP) or Emergency Physician (EP) to work as a part‑time position at an Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) in Vancouver. Remuneration: Clinical Service Contract.
The Southeast UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non‑life‑threatening injuries, illnesses and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the service and expertise of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5). The UPCC will operate 7 days per week, year round, Mon‑Sat 0800‑2200 and Sunday and Holidays 0900‑1700.
The clinic provides team‑based care, with off‑site rapid access to X‑ray, ultrasound and labs. Patients are linked to appropriate care pathways that include specialist, social service, and primary care. All treatment and follow‑up will be carefully integrated with existing Primary Care providers, and patients will be supported to find Primary Care if unattached.
The Vancouver SE UPCC supports a healthy work‑life balance and focuses on professional development and satisfaction of its multidisciplinary team. The clinic supports learning, skill development and continuous quality improvement through clinical simulation exercises and a range of quality improvement initiatives.
Combines current or recent experience in primary care along with urgent or emergent care, with a clear understanding of the role and importance of foundational primary care, with the ability to integrate the two. Positive, energetic, and empathic with strong communication skills and natural attention to detail.
