Senior Project Manager, Individual Wealth Technology -
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Toronto (Hybrid, 3x/week)
Overview:
In this role you will work closely with other members of the Individual Wealth business and technology teams, including senior technical specialists, developers, quality assurance, project managers and other project partners in the delivery of working software, using standardized development processes based on industry best practices. Continuous learning, knowledge transfer and the incorporation of DevOps tools and processes is extremely important to the success of this team.
The Senior Project Manager applies their advanced knowledge and experience in managing large and complex projects and teams in the Individual Wealth Division. Experience working with investment fund products (i.e., mutual funds, segregated funds, annuities etc.) and operating systems shall be considered an asset.

Accountabilities:
Responsible for leading large and high risk/complex Technology projects in wealth area, working with business and technology leaders, cross functional teams, project team members and external parties to ensure projects are well-defined, planned and delivered.
- Demonstrates business and technical acumen to ensure deliverables and expected outcomes align with the Business Case.
- Provides coaching and mentorship on Project Management and project delivery methodologies and practices to less experienced Project Managers.
- Works closely with the project sponsor and delivery leader to develop the project charter, including defining the project scope, objectives, approach, measures of success, stakeholder engagement and communication plan.
- Develops integrated project plans demonstrating strong financial and project acumen (including cost estimates, budget, resourcing requirements), applying appropriate estimation models, and refine and manage performance against them, customizing project planning methods to suit the project.
- Manages project budgets and costs, and provides estimates and forecasts, including competent analysis of capitalization, amortization, and expense management.
- Engages & collaborates with governance stakeholders to ensure compliance of product towards corporate risk profile and standards and organizational governance processes.
- Performs risk planning and analysis (qualitative & quantitative), including risk identification and risk response planning.
- Executes, tracks and monitors progress to plan and communicates the appropriate project information to all relevant project team members and stakeholders.
- Contributes to and adapts to organizational change, best practice, and improvements across teams, including the effective implementation and adherence to changes in processes and practices.
- Looks for and implements opportunities to improve team efficiencies.
Must Haves:
- 10+ years as a Project Manager in a technology delivery environment (financial services)
- Must have high degree experience in waterfall methodology.
- Experience working with investment fund products (i.e., mutual funds, segregated funds, annuities etc.) and operating systems shall be considered an asset.
- Proven experience in delivering large complex projects involving multiple departments, vendors, external partners in the delivery of solutions requiring integration of multiple tools and technologies.
- Demonstrates change leadership by successfully guiding the organization through change, while maintaining focus, intensity, and team cohesion. - Demonstrated management of full project lifecycle for multiple initiatives or workstreams varying in complexity and stakeholders, ensuring the effective execution of large or complex projects to deliver a product or solution that satisfies stakeholder expectations and achieves project success criteria (schedule, budget, team cohesion, regulatory, etc.).
- Technical Acumen, Program Management, Understanding of PDLC and SDLC, Experience in managing senior stakeholders, Delivery experience in complex technology environment, and experience in financial services sector especially in wealth management area
Nice to have:
- Accreditation in Project Management such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent credentials
- Experience in agile methodology
