Job description

Petal is a leading Canadian healthcare orchestration and medical billing company that is transforming healthcare systems by making them more agile, efficient, and resilient through advanced analytics, actionable insights, and innovative technology solutions.

Our commitment to fostering an exceptional workplace culture has earned us notable recognitions, including being named a Great Place to Work in both the technology and healthcare sectors. Join us in our mission to empower healthcare innovators and help improve healthcare differently.

What you can expect when joining the team

Reporting to the Software Deployment Manager, you will work closely with healthcare professionals across Canada, ensuring customer satisfaction and delivering an exceptional experience throughout their journey with Petal. You will be responsible for implementing our software solutions for groups of healthcare professionals, medical clinics, and hospital organizations across Canada.

As an Implementation Specialist, you will coordinate internal teams and customer stakeholders to keep priorities aligned with operational needs. Experience with physician scheduling, clinical workflows, or the day-to-day realities of managing medical schedules is highly valued and will help you translate customer challenges into practical solutions. Success in this role requires strong communication, autonomy, and the ability to anticipate risks and drive timely solutions through to successful delivery.

Your day-to-day

In your day-to-day, you will:

• Lead customer implementations from discovery through adoption, serving as the primary partner to clinical leaders, physician schedulers, planners, and administrators.

• Understand each customer’s scheduling environment, including coverage requirements, rotations, availability, absences, workload equity, and specialty-specific constraints.

• Translate day-to-day scheduling practices into clear business rules and practical, sustainable configurations within the Petal platform.

• Plan and coordinate implementation activities, keeping stakeholders, priorities, decisions, timelines, and deliverables aligned.

• Identify risks, information gaps, and operational challenges early, and recommend solutions that balance clinical needs, customer workflows, and platform capabilities.

• Configure, validate, troubleshoot, and optimize scheduling rules, constraints, equity parameters, and automation scripts.

• Review scheduling outcomes with customers, investigate exceptions, and refine the solution based on testing and real-world use.

• Build customer confidence and autonomy through tailored training, hands-on guidance, and clear explanations of system features and scheduling workflows.

• Support adoption by helping customers adjust their processes and transition successfully to new scheduling practices.

• Collaborate with Product, Development, Technical Support, and Customer Support to resolve issues and deliver a seamless customer experience.

• Use data and reporting tools to validate outcomes, inform recommendations, and support operational decision-making.

• Continuously develop your expertise in physician scheduling, clinical workflows, and the Petal platform while working proactively with customers across multiple time zones.

Your profile

Are you a team player recognized for your attention to detail and outstanding customer service? Do you excel at coordinating projects while effectively managing priorities and risks? Are you looking for an opportunity to grow your project management expertise while taking on a leadership role in a dynamic and innovative environment? The sky is the limit! If you have:

• Demonstrated experience in physician scheduling, healthcare workforce rostering, healthcare operations, or healthcare technology implementation.

• Experience taking ownership of customer projects or internal initiatives from start to finish, coordinating multiple stakeholders and keeping priorities, timelines, decisions, and deliverables aligned.

• Strong ability to understand complex operational workflows and translate them into clear requirements, business rules, and practical solutions.

• Experience helping users build confidence and autonomy by showing how their clinical workflows translate into effective software use, adapting guidance to different learning needs, and facilitating hands-on practice.

• Experience managing multiple projects or initiatives while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.

• Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders.

• A high degree of autonomy and sound judgment, with the ability to identify information gaps, anticipate risks, manage competing priorities, and move issues toward resolution.

• Strong organizational and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and support successful customer outcomes.

• Comfort working with data, structured logic, system configurations, and rule-based processes.

• Advanced proficiency in both English and French, spoken and written.

Preferred assets

• Experience with physician scheduling, workforce-management, EMR, EHR, or hospital operations software.

• Knowledge of advanced scheduling concepts such as rotations, equity, constraints, workload balancing, or automation.

• Two to five years of experience implementing or deploying software solutions, including project planning, coordination, risk management, and delivery.

• Experience managing multiple projects or initiatives while balancing competing priorities and deadlines.

• Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and supporting change adoption.

• Experience leading hospital-wide or multi-department initiatives, including governance or steering committee meetings.

• Experience using data to support recommendations, validate outcomes, and demonstrate value.

Petal's position on remote work

In our opinion, a company cannot claim to be modern, innovative, and committed to employee well-being without embracing remote work to the fullest extent its business model allows. At Petal, employees continue to benefit from the maximum level of remote work flexibility permitted by the nature of their role and operational requirements.

Our benefits

• A recurring hybrid work allowance;

• Competitive compensation that recognizes your contribution;

• 4 to 6 weeks of paid vacation per year;

• 5 paid personal days annually;

• A group RRSP/DPSP plan with employer contributions;

• Comprehensive group insurance coverage starting on your first day;

• A $250 annual wellness allowance;

• Access to the Lumino Health telehealth platform;
