Position Description:
CGI is seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Lead to join our team. The successful candidate will lead quality engineering initiatives across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), driving test strategy, automation, and quality assurance activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. Working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across multiple time zones, the Quality Engineering Lead will play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable, and business-critical applications. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in Bedford, Nova Scotia, operating under a hybrid work model requiring four days per week onsite at the client office.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end Quality Engineering activities throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Design, develop, execute, and maintain test strategies, test cases, and test documentation.
• Perform ETL and database validation using Snowflake and SQL.
• Execute UI functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python.
• Support CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Airflow, or similar technologies.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Cortex AI to improve testing efficiency.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders across multiple time zones.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to QA team members while promoting testing best practices.
• Track defects, communicate project status, and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
• 7-8+ years of Quality Engineering or Software Testing experience.
• Previous experience leading Quality Engineering or QA teams.
• Strong experience with ETL testing.
• Strong experience with UI testing.
• Strong database testing experience using Snowflake and SQL.
• Experience creating and maintaining automation scripts using Python.
• Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Airflow, or similar platforms.
• Good understanding of the complete Quality Engineering SDLC, including requirements analysis, test planning, test case creation, execution, defect management, and documentation.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cortex AI, or similar solutions.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams.

• Experience within Financial Services.
• Experience supporting Regulatory Reporting initiatives.
• Experience using qTest or similar test management and defect tracking tools.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.

The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $70,-$,. This role is an existing vacancy.
