Mobile Dev Lead

Our client, is seeking an experienced, delivery-focused Mobile Dev Lead (Android) to drive the modernization and delivery of their core mobile applications.

In this high-visibility technical leadership role, you will assume complete engineering ownership over the architecture, technical design, and execution of high-volume, native Android solutions. Acting as the central delivery authority, you will bridge the gap between product requirements, UX design, and engineering implementation. This position is ideal for a senior hands-on professional who pairs deep platform-specific knowledge with the mentoring and coordination capabilities required to guide distributed engineering teams, enforce code quality standards, and optimize application performance within an enterprise-scale Agile ecosystem.

Duration: 10-Month Contract (with high potential for extension)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days per week on-site at the client location)

Responsibilities
Technical Delivery, Architecture & Coding
Native Platform Leadership: Lead Android application development, defining mobile architecture standards and driving end-to-end technical delivery.

Design Pattern Implementation: Design and implement robust mobile architectures using clean code principles and standard patterns, specifically MVC, MVP, and MVVM.

Modern UI Development: Architect fluid, modular, and highly responsive user interfaces using Jetpack Compose alongside the Android SDK.

API & System Integration: Build reusable custom components, libraries, and frameworks while seamlessly integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and enterprise backend services.

Governance, Collaboration & Release Management
Code Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough peer code reviews, enforce development best practices, and optimize application performance, security, and scalability.

Distributed Team Mentorship: Mentor developers, facilitate technical growth, and effectively coordinate delivery timelines across onshore and offshore development teams.

Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate closely with Product, UX, QA, and DevOps teams to translate business requirements into timed technical specifications.

Pipeline Integration: Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous integration tooling to streamline automated testing and overall release management cycles.



Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 7+ years of professional, hands-on Android development experience, with a proven track record of acting in a Team Lead, Lead Developer, or Technical Lead capacity.

Core Tech Stack Mastery: Expert-level proficiency with Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, and Android Architecture Components.

Architectural Depth: Deep, referenceable experience implementing and governing structural design patterns including MVC, MVP, and MVVM.

Integrations & Pipelines: Solid experience with version control using Git, coupled with functional exposure to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps.

Ecosystem Acuity: Strong technical understanding of mobile security protocols, performance tuning, and the core Android application lifecycle.

Soft Skills: Exceptional client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills. A well-organized, self-motivated leader who can manage multiple duties in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills & Assets
Prior professional mobile engineering experience operating within the Banking or Financial Services industry is highly preferred.
