Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance AnalystJob DescriptionThe Senior Quality Assurance Analyst plays a key role in ensuring that electronic and aerospace products meet stringent engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements. This position focuses on material verification and control, mission and quality assurance, quality systems and compliance, quality engineering, and supplier quality. The analyst uses advanced inspection methods, measurement tools, and quality management processes to verify product conformity, drive continuous improvement, and support successful mission outcomes across active programs.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming, in-process, and completed products to confirm conformance with engineering and customer requirements.
- Use a variety of measuring devices, testing equipment, and statistical process control methods to verify product quality.
- Conduct product inspections on the manufacturing floor, ensuring consistent application of quality standards.
- Perform and verify First Article (FA) inspections and conformity inspections for new or modified products.
- Raise notifications of non-conformance, quarantine non-conforming product, and provide disposition when authorized.
- Plan, organize, direct, and report on special process-related activities to ensure engineering requirements are fully met.
- Provide program direction within the assigned area to ensure quality tasks are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with planning.
- Identify and address weaknesses in certification, verification, validation, and qualification approaches that could impact mission success.
- Continuously review quality strategies, practices, and procedures to ensure customer requirements are consistently met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality systems are compliant, efficient, and capable of meeting customer expectations.
- Conduct and support internal and external audits, providing feedback on non-compliance issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Determine whether products and processes are aligned with applicable regulatory standards and quality specifications.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate quality standards are implemented and maintained.
- Recommend corrective actions to address quality issues and support ongoing process improvement initiatives.
- Support active programs by developing and implementing defined quality and mission assurance activities to ensure compliance with company and contractual QMS requirements.
- Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external customers, including US Government Quality Assurance Representatives and other customer quality representatives.
- Review and evaluate product test reports to confirm compliance with requirements and identify potential issues.
- Perform quality witnessing of factory acceptance testing of products, ensuring test procedures and results meet required standards.
- Monitor and utilize internal auditing and corrective action tools and processes to maintain and improve the quality management system.
- Execute training and development plans to support the needs of the quality function and the broader division.
- Maintain awareness of budgeted activities and support efficient use of resources within quality programs.
- Manage supplier submissions of nonconforming material and ensure appropriate disposition and follow-up actions.
- Conduct source inspections at suppliers and manage material release processes to ensure incoming materials meet specifications.
- Perform supplier quality checks on nonconforming parts and support supplier quality improvement efforts.
- Follow ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) test processes to verify product performance and compliance.
- Review source control documents, blueprints, and bills of materials (BOMs) to validate product and component requirements.
Essential Skills- At least 5 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst or practitioner within the electronics or aerospace industry, specifically with electronic parts.
- Hands-on experience performing First Article (FA) inspections and conformity inspections.
- Experience following ATP (Acceptance Test Procedure) test processes for product verification and acceptance.
- Ability to interpret and work with source control documents, engineering blueprints, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Experience conducting supplier quality checks, including management of nonconforming parts and supplier quality submissions.
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, non-conformance reporting, and material verification and control.
- Knowledge of quality specifications and standards relevant to electronic and aerospace products.
- Excellent analytical skills with a focus on process evaluation and improvement.
- Ability to lead change initiatives and mentor colleagues in a constructive and positive manner.
- Effective teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, and quality functions.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills for working with internal teams and external customer representatives.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and analysis.
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools for budget and work tracking purposes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- University bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a quality assurance practitioner in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience with quality management tools such as root cause analysis methodologies and document management systems is a definite asset.
- Familiarity with statistical process control techniques and quality auditing practices.
- Demonstrated ability to support mission assurance activities in a regulated or contract-driven environment.
- Experience acting as a point of contact for external quality representatives, including government or customer quality organizations.
- Proven ability to develop and execute training plans related to quality processes and standards.
Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a combined office and manufacturing/production floor environment, supporting evening shift operations. The standard schedule is a 10-hour evening shift from Monday to Thursday, with working hours approximately from late afternoon into the evening. The first eight weeks of employment will be spent on a day shift, typically from early morning to late afternoon, to complete training before transitioning to the evening shift. You will work closely with an evening shift team that includes RF Test Technicians, Quality professionals, Product Control staff, and Assemblers, collaborating directly on the production floor and in office areas. The dress code is business casual, suitable for both office work and time spent in the production environment.
