Job Title: RF Test Technician
Job Description
The RF Test Technician performs functional testing, troubleshooting, and tuning of RF electronic assemblies to ensure they meet defined specifications and quality standards. This role follows established operational procedures, uses a wide range of electronic test equipment, and supports production schedules in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Follow operational procedures, including routing and work instructions, and maintain accurate production records for electrical assemblies.
- Perform functional testing of RF electronic assemblies according to part-specific, pre-established test procedures.
- Test and troubleshoot RF electronic assemblies down to the board and component level to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform troubleshooting and tuning using test set hardware, fixtures, and software to optimize performance.
- Monitor tests from start to completion, record test data accurately, and service test equipment as required.
- Interpret and follow blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to ensure products meet specifications and tolerance levels.
- Perform proper loading and unloading of electronic equipment in test beds to support safe and efficient testing.
- Demonstrate correct use of electronic and manual test equipment in daily operations.
- Acquire and maintain applicable skill and knowledge certifications as required for the role.
- Comply with safety procedures and hazardous waste disposal programs at all times.
- Request tools and supplies in line with project requirements to support continuous production.
- Follow production schedules and quality requirements to meet delivery and performance targets.
- Understand the end use of manufactured products to support quality-focused decision-making.
- Demonstrate initiative to keep processes moving efficiently and on schedule.
- Achieve special process certifications where applicable to support specialized testing activities.
- Take an active role in problem solving to improve processes, resolve issues, and enhance product quality.
- Complete ad-hoc assignments and tasks as directed by operations leadership.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3–5 years of RF and electronics experience related to production testing.
- At least 3 years of experience working as an RF Test Technician.
- Proficiency in RF testing and troubleshooting down to board and component level.
- Hands-on experience using test tools such as Spectrum Analyzer, Vector Network Analyzer (VNA), RF Signal Generator, Oscilloscope, Power Meter, Power Sensor, Vector Signal Analyzer (VSA), and Vector Signal Generator (VSG).
- Ability to follow and interpret blueprints, guidelines, and diagrams to verify product specifications and tolerances.
- Demonstrated ability to use simple hand tools, machine tools, and mechanical measuring devices correctly.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge and background in the use of a wide variety of electronic measurement, stimulus, and communication instrumentation used to test aerospace products.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to use electronic and manual test equipment safely and accurately.
- Capability to monitor tests, record data, and maintain production records with attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Technology diploma in electrical or a related field, or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
- College diploma in a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience with LabView, particularly in relation to cabinet and automation testing, is an asset.
- Experience using LabView to update and fix bugs is considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with calibration processes for test equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for RF and electronic assemblies.
- Ability to obtain and maintain applicable skill, knowledge, and special process certifications.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
Work Environment
This role is based in a combined office and manufacturing/production floor environment. The standard schedule is a 10-hour evening shift from Monday to Thursday, with core hours from 4:30 . to the late evening. The first six weeks are worked on a day shift from 6:30 . to 5:00 ., Monday to Thursday, for training before transitioning to the evening shift. The evening shift team includes RF Test Technicians, Quality, Product Control, and Assemblers, fostering a collaborative and cross-functional work setting. The position involves regular use of RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, VNAs, RF signal generators, oscilloscopes, power meters, power sensors, VSAs, and VSGs, as well as simple hand and machine tools and mechanical measuring devices. Business casual attire is required in this environment, and employees are expected to follow all safety and hazardous waste disposal procedures.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
