Experienced Buyer Needed – Manufacturing Environment Fuze HR Solutions is currently recruiting a Buyer / Procurement Specialist for a leading Canadian food manufacturing organization located in Milton, Ontario. We are seeking a procurement professional with experience managing purchasing activities, supplier relationships, purchase orders, inventory requirements, and ERP/MRP systems within a manufacturing environment. - Manage daily purchasing activities for ingredients, packaging materials, and production supplies.
- Create and maintain purchase orders while ensuring accuracy, pricing, and delivery timelines.
- Review MRP reports and production requirements to determine purchasing needs.
- Coordinate supplier communication, order confirmations, and delivery schedules.
- Source suppliers, request quotations, analyze pricing, and negotiate purchasing terms.
- Monitor supplier performance related to cost, quality, and delivery.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and documentation.
- Support inventory management activities and inventory accuracy initiatives.
- Coordinate warehouse transfers and material availability with internal teams and third-party logistics providers.
- Review invoices and resolve receiving discrepancies.
- Support supplier compliance documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Work closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
- Experience purchasing raw materials, packaging, ingredients, or manufacturing components.
- Manufacturing experience required; food manufacturing, CPG, pharmaceutical, or related industries preferred.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems (Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
