Our client is a global technology company with a subsidiary corporate office in Greater Vancouver. They have both software and hardware products, with operations in North America and Europe.
On behalf of our client, Swim Recruiting is looking for an Accounting Manager, Inventory. This is a newly created position and will be a contract to start. The new Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing inventory accounting processes and ensuring the accuracy of inventory valuation and cost reporting. The role involves operational accounting, analyzing Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), supporting the semi-annual physical inventory counts and audits, general financial analysis, and supporting month/quarter/year-end close. The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with colleagues in corporate accounting and financial reporting, as well as folks in other departments such as sales, operations, supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing.
The an Accounting Manage will manage inventory reconciliations, monitor inventory transactions, and support month-end and year-end financial close activities in accordance with accounting standards and internal controls. The position analyzes product costs, investigates cost variances, and develops recommendations to improve profitability, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. Additional responsibilities include maintaining standard costs, preparing financial reports, and identifying process improvements and opportunities for system optimization to strengthen inventory controls and reporting.
We are looking for a senior-level accounting professional with over 5 years of experience in accounting, including at least 2 years specializing in cost accounting and inventory accounting in a relevant inventory-based organization (manufacturing, hardware, industrial, etc.). Recent people management experience is preferred.
Based in a corporate office in Greater Vancouver. The Accounting Manager will work on a hybrid schedule. Must have an appropriate home office set-up.
This is a contract role to start, so compensation comes in the form of an hourly consulting rate- likely in the range of $50 an hour to $70 an hour (i.e equivalent to around $105,000 to $140,000 annualized). The rate really depends on qualifications, education, and depth/relevance of skills and work experience. Please discuss your compensation expectations in further detail with SWIM.
