On behalf of our Client, SWIM is seeking a new VP Finance, reporting to Ownership. Leading a team of ~8 people in total (mix of direct and indirect reports). The primary focus for the new VP Finance will of course be Accounting & Finance, and they will also lead other corporate services (i.e. HR, IT), including overseeing outsourced consultants. The VP Finance will manage the day-to-day output of their accounting team and also contribute a great deal to the strategic direction of the company. Specific responsibilities include cashflow management, budgeting & forecasting, ad hoc and routine management reporting, process improvements, and ongoing system optimization.
We are seeking a well-rounded business leader with excellent communication skills and relationship building capabilities. The new VP Finance will be personable, entrepreneurial, down-to-earth, confident, resilient, and adaptable. Excellent leadership skills are key in this role, as is the ability to partner effectively with folks across the organization- in all departments and at all levels. We are looking for someone who started their career as a “traditional Accountant” but who has taken a path to become more and more of a general business leader. The VP Finance will be someone who can be the only “accounting & finance person” sitting in the Boardroom and be able to contribute strategically to the business planning.
Education & Qualifications-
Experience-
Size- Experience working for a mid-size and entrepreneurial business, with revenues of over $100M Cdn.
Sector- Preference for experience in a company making and moving product and/or in an industrial business.
Base salary commensurate with years of relevant work experience, qualifications, and skills. The anticipated base salary for this role is in the range of $150,000 to $175,000, plus a performance-based bonus, benefits, paid time off, etc. Please discuss your total compensation expectations in further detail with SWIM.
Based in New Westminster. The VP Finance will work from the office an average of 4 days/week, collaborating in-person with their team and with the Owners. This company provides a flexible work schedule as needed to manage both life and work commitments.
