Job description

A skilled engineering professional who independently performs the full range of responsibilities for routine projects. Applies established engineering methods and solutions to typical problems, contributing to the design, planning, management and delivery of projects. Supports the delivery of innovative, client-focused engineering solutions across projects involving environmental impact assessment, remediation and environmental modeling. Focuses on broadening technical skills, progressing toward professional accreditation if applicable, and developing capabilities in project management and client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
  • Community of Practice Management: Participate in a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to begin to build own expertise.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently.
  • Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the design of engineering solutions; design the feasibility testing approach and supervise its implementation to support the development and validation of engineering solutions.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment: Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the well-being of self and others in the workplace. Identify patterns of risky behavior within the team and take appropriate action to resolve them, escalating serious issues as appropriate.
  • Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Project Management: Work within an established project management plan to achieve specific goals.
  • Request for Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response: Gather information and resources, draft and complete standardized proposals, and fulfill all process requirements (in terms of deadlines, documentation, in response to bid solicitations, request for proposal, and request for tender to create the best chance of being awarded the contract.
  • Research: Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts, aiding in the quick and accurate identification, analysis, and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
  • Waste Management: Lead waste projects or supervise area of the organization, ensuring adherence to regulations and effective reduction, segregation, and disposal of waste.
