Formed in 2009, OCL started their first project and began building around a business model focused on “People and Doing the Job Right” Position Summary We are currently recruiting experienced Industrial Painters to join our team.
Based primarily out of our Fort Saskatchewan Fabrication Shop, this role requires some flexibility of travel to various client oil and gas facilities for field coating projects in Alberta.
The successful candidates will be responsible for executing high-quality coating applications in both controlled and live industrial environments.
Compensation & Corporate Benefits Hourly Wage: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Overtime: Paid after 8 hours per day.
Vacation & Statutory Pay: 10% premium paid on all regular hours worked.

Key Responsibilities & Duties Hours: Work standard and extended shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours per day; accommodate weekend scheduling and regional field travel as required by project timelines.
NOTE: Standard work week is Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm (8) Coating Application: Apply industrial coating systems to piping, structural components, and equipment utilizing brush and roll, conventional, airless, and plural component spray methods.
Operational Versatility: Successfully perform coating duties across dual environments, maintaining quality standards in both the fabrication shop and live oil and gas facilities.
HSE Compliance & Maintenance: Safely operate, inspect, and maintain industrial equipment.
Adhere strictly to company Safe Work Practices, client site regulations, and mandatory PPE guidelines.
Qualifications & Employment Requirements Technical Experience & Competencies Professional Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience operating as an industrial painter within a heavy industrial or oilfield setting.
Technical Proficiency: Proven experience operating plural component pumps, Airless king pumps and conventional pots.
Material Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in the application of zincs, epoxies, urethanes,100% solids and industrial grouts.
System Knowledge: Proficient understanding of application procedures for both above- and below-grade coating systems.ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and problem solve coating equipment. Communication: Written and verbal English.
Licensing & Compliance Possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License accompanied by a clean, verifiable driving abstract.
Access to reliable personal transportation to ensure punctual attendance.
Ability to successfully pass pre-access drug and alcohol screening as required for project-specific site mobilization.
Preferred Assets & Certifications Candidates possessing the following credentials will be given priority consideration: Trade Certification: Journeyman Painter ticket.
Inspection & Quality Credentials: NACE/AMPP Level 1 coating certification.
Vendor-Specific Coating Assets: Denso, SPC, or Stopaq certifications.
Safety & Field Tickets: Pipeline Construction Safety Training (PCST), H2S Alive, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE), or Defensive Driving OCL Group Inc.
