About the Role
The Communications Coordinator supports the Faculty of Applied Sciences' industry, community and recruitment strategies by developing, coordinating, and marketing events, and producing content to promote the success of students, faculty, staff and alumni of the School. Working closely with members on the Communications Team in the Faculty of Applied Sciences, and event planning committees, the Coordinator serves as the principal contact and coordinator for all events hosted and sponsored by the Faculty. The Coordinator is responsible for the development of written content to support the communication and recruitment activities and strategies for the Faculty.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or Marketing, or a related discipline, and two years' of related experience in areas such as in public relations, marketing/communication, event management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent knowledge of social media tools (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
- Excellent knowledge of communications and marketing strategies (e.g., web, print, social media).
- Good knowledge of website content management systems and analytical tools (e.g., Adobe CQ5, Google Analytics).
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a variety of settings while exercising tact, diplomacy and professionalism.
