Job description
The Company

Globe 24-7 is partnering with a mining client in Dubreuilville, ON, to hire an experienced Mine Engineer for a Mid-Range Planner opportunity with focus on underground operations.

Position Overview

As the Mine Engineer – Mid-Range Planner, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and continuously improving a rolling 12-month mine plan that supports safe and efficient mining operations. Reporting to the Senior Production Engineer, you will coordinate with technical services, operations, and geology teams to develop practical, achievable schedules that integrate development and production requirements. This role focuses on ensuring operational plans remain aligned with business objectives while adapting to changing geological information, resource updates, and operational priorities. Through effective planning and cross-functional collaboration, you will help optimize production outcomes and support the successful execution of both near-term and longer-range operational goals.

The Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop, maintain, and update a rolling 12-month mine plan, including production schedules and forecasts that support operational requirements and business objectives.
  • Coordinate mid-range planning activities by incorporating development, infrastructure, maintenance, and construction requirements while ensuring consistency across short-, medium-, and long-term planning horizons.
  • Partner with operations, geology, survey, and technical services personnel to produce practical, executable mine plans and provide engineering support for day-to-day mining activities.
  • Evaluate alternative mining strategies through scenario modelling, risk assessments, and trade-off analyses to improve operational performance, productivity, and resource utilization.
  • Prepare planning reports, production reconciliations, and variance analyses, while supporting budgeting processes and contributing to life-of-mine planning, capital project evaluations, and technical studies, including economic assessments.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior technical staff, including engineers, survey personnel, and drill and blast planners, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or immediate eligibility to obtain registration.
  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience in underground mining, including responsibility for mine planning and production scheduling.
  • Sound understanding of underground mining methods, with experience in narrow vein and longhole stoping operations considered a strong asset.
  • Advanced proficiency with mine planning and scheduling software such as Deswik or comparable industry applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adapt effectively within a dynamic mining operation.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
  • Comfortable working in a combination of office and underground mining environments, with regular site exposure.
  • Willingness to work a rotational camp-based schedule, including a 14 days on / 14 days off roster.

The Environment
This is an onsite Fly-in/Fly-out position offered with a 14x14 rotating schedule. Team member flights will be provided from Toronto, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, or Rouyn-Noranda. Accommodations are provided while onsite.

The Rewards
The position offers a competitive remuneration package, including a base salary range of $90,000-$172,150/yr, STIP, Travel Allowances, Health Benefits and more.
