City Specialist, Merchant Partnerships
Location: Vancouver and surrounding areas, BC
Employment Type: 12-month contract
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 6:00
Pay Rate: $23 to $25 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing City Specialist to help grow the local presence of a fast-growing technology platform across the Greater Vancouver area.
In this field-based role, you will meet directly with prospective and existing restaurant partners. You will introduce merchants to the platform, make a strong first impression, identify their needs, and coordinate follow-up conversations with the sales team.
The position will initially involve spending up to five days per week in the field. Over time, the role may transition to approximately 80% field-based work and 20% remote work, depending on business and project needs.
What You’ll Do
- Visit prospective restaurant partners in person to introduce the platform and its services
- Engage in face-to-face outreach and cold calling with local merchants
- Build rapport with restaurant owners, operators, and staff
- Schedule follow-up calls or meetings between prospective merchants and the sales team
- Support new restaurant partners as they join the platform
- Gather feedback to better understand merchants’ priorities, concerns, and business needs
- Communicate merchant insights to internal sales and operations teams
- Assist with new projects and local market initiatives as business needs evolve
- Use a phone, tablet, computer, and productivity tools to document activity and manage follow-ups
What You Bring
- At least 6 months of experience in a customer-facing, sales, retail, hospitality, or service-based role
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Confidence approaching and speaking with prospective business partners in person
- Intermediate-level SQL skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, including Word or Docs and Excel or Sheets
- General technological fluency and comfort using phones, tablets, and computers
- Ability to perform basic technical troubleshooting
- A valid driver’s licence and reliable access to a vehicle
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory
Nice to Have
- Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese
- Previous experience in field sales, business development, hospitality, restaurant operations, or merchant support
- Familiarity with the Greater Vancouver restaurant and small-business community

Candidates must be located in Vancouver or the surrounding area and be able to travel regularly across:
- Vancouver, including East Vancouver
- Burnaby
- Coquitlam
- Richmond
- Surrey
- Delta
- Langley, as required
