ResponsibilitiesHere are the responsibilities for this QA Test and Validation Technician (Satellite VoIP) at this Satellite Telecommunications leader in Montreal;
Prototype Validation & Test Calls:
Physically test satellite VoIP prototype devices by picking up the handset, initiating calls, and evaluating real-time audio quality, latency, and connection stability.
Hardware Configuration:
Connect prototype receiver units to test computers and load required configuration files, testing scripts, or firmware updates.
Remote Team Collaboration:
Coordinate daily with a remote engineering team (working primarily in English) to report test findings, run custom diagnostics, and verify fixes.
Bug & Log Logging:
Document test scenarios, record test results, and capture network or system logs from the computer to help engineers troubleshoot underlying network issues.
Basic Network Testing:
Monitor simple network behaviors and parameters during active VoIP satellite sessions to isolate hardware failures from signal issues.
QualificationsHere are the qualifications required for this QA Test and Validation Technician (Satellite VoIP) at this Satellite Telecommunications leader in Montreal;
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, or a related IT discipline (entry-level profiles highly encouraged).
Basic hands-on IT experience (understanding of operating systems, hardware connections, and basic computer settings).
Fundamental understanding of computer networking principles (IP addresses, Wi-Fi, Ethernet connections) or VoIP technology is a strong asset.
Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken) to collaborate effectively with the remote engineering team.
High attention to detail, curiosity, and a methodical approach to repeating manual test scripts.
Ability to work onsite at the Montreal office to physically handle and test prototype devices.
