Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of protection and control, revenue metering, monitoring, power quality, and related power system engineering projects.
• Support the design team in developing medium‑ and high‑voltage metering, protection, and control systems.
• Prepare drawings, schematics, and diagrams for electrical distribution, metering, and communications systems.
• Support engineering calculations related to metering and protection system configurations.
• Assist with the review and development of vendor equipment specifications.
• Provide technical support to internal teams and, where appropriate, external stakeholders.
• Support technical proposals and solutions engineering activities.
• Develop an understanding of Ontario's electricity market, utility operations, and industry best practices.
• Other duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Registered in a recognized co‑op program.
• Foundational knowledge of power systems, electrical safety principles, grounding, and industry standards.
• Experience or exposure to tools such as Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, Mathcad, MATLAB, ETAP, or other engineering software is considered an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, organized, and eager to learn.
• Strong customer service mindset and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Term Details, Compensation & Work Location

• Term: September 2026 – December 2026 (4-month co‑op term)
• Compensation: $23.00 – $26.00 per hour, based on year of study, relevant experience, and internal equity
• Schedule: 40‑hour work week
• Location: Mississauga, ON
• Work Arrangement: 5 days per week in‑office
• Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing Fall 2026 co‑op opportunity
