Job description
Hi! We’re a busy family in Sooke looking for a full-time nanny to join our family and care for our happy, curious 2.5-year-old daughter. We’re a two-parent household, and both of us work full-time, so we’re looking for someone who can provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for our daughter during the day. The position is Monday to Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and pays $25/hour. We’re hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with young children and wants to build a meaningful, long-term relationship with our daughter. Her days are filled with lots of play, outdoor adventures, walks, trips to the park, crafts, learning activities, reading books, imaginative play, and exploring the world around her. She also loves spending time outside with our chickens and being around animals, so we’d love someone who enjoys the outdoors as much as she does! The role includes preparing simple meals and snacks for her throughout the day and tidying up after activities and meals. We don’t expect heavy housekeeping, but we do appreciate someone who is happy to clean up toys and crafts, wash dishes used during the day, and leave shared spaces tidy. Above all, we’re looking for someone who is kind, dependable, patient, and caring! Someone who will become an important part of our daughter’s life and provide a fun, safe, and loving environment while we’re at work. Our ideal nanny: * Has experience caring for toddlers or young children. * Is CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain certification). * Is reliable, responsible, and punctual. * Enjoys planning fun, engaging, and age-appropriate activities. * Loves being outdoors and encouraging active play. * Is comfortable around cats (we have two!) and other animals, including our backyard chickens. * Has a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (our home is in Sooke). * Is looking for a long-term position and values building a strong relationship with our family.
